A vertical shot of a plate of traditional food

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 green tea bags
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

  1. Brew Green Tea:
    • Steep the green tea bags in 1 cup of hot water for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  2. Prepare the Glaze:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the brewed green tea, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and minced garlic. This will be your glaze.
  3. Marinate the Salmon:
    • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a zip-top bag. Pour half of the green tea glaze over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well-coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.
  4. Cook the Salmon:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Remove salmon from the marinade (reserve the remaining glaze) and sear each side for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  5. Finish in the Oven:
    • Brush the reserved green tea glaze over the seared salmon fillets. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Remove the salmon from the oven and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish. Serve the green tea glazed salmon over rice or with your favorite vegetables.
